The Keselwatta Police has filed a B report before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court against a group of lawyers who organised a protest on the 18th of January, condemning the Attorney General’s alleged interference with the judiciary.
According to the B report, Keselwatta police alleged that a group of lawyers, including Senior Counsel Gunaratne Wanninayake, Nuwan Bopage, and Senaka Perera, had organized a protest by violating election laws and the provisions of the National Thoroughfares Act.
The lawyers had organised this protest condemning the Attorney General’s alleged attempts to prevent Colombo Additional Magistrate Tharanga Mahawatte from hearing the case filed against Convener of the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige and Ven. Galwewa Siridhamma Thera.
