President declares a state of emergency

The President has declared a state emergency from midnight today to facilitate the restoration of public services and their continuance without disruption.

With the state of emergency in force, the President could deploy all armed forces to carry out public services and may introduce new regulations to outlaw demonstrations that hinder public law and order.
