An Indian naval ship which called at the Colombo Port this year. Sri Lanka’s dilemma is to play smart and survive the ongoing power struggle between China on one side and India and the West on the other.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has today agreed to less than five hours of power shedding for tomorrow.

Accordingly the PUCSL has directed the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to reduce the poweroutages to below 5 hours.

The power cuts would be spread over two time slots to minimize the inconvenience caused to the public with three or four hours in the day time and half-an-hour in the night before 10.00 pm

A seven hour power cut suggested by the CEB has been turned down by the PUCSL
