The extraordinary gazette notification declaring Ranil Wickremesinghe as the 8th President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in terms of section 17 of the Presidential Election Act( Special provisions) Act No2 of 1981 was gazetted under the signature of Secretary-General of Parliament Dhammika Dassanayake.
