The High Commission of India in Colombo organized a rock band concert on the 24th of January, “Rhythm of Harmony,” to commemorate the 74th Republic Day of India, which fell on January 26, 2023. The President of Sri Lanka, Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe, graced the event as the chief guest. A renowned rock band from India, UDX, led by Inakhu Atoshe Ayeh, collaborated with a Sri Lankan band, Stigmata, led by Suresh De Silva, for this special event. Several Sri Lankan ministers, members of parliament, members of the diplomatic corps, members of the Indian diaspora, and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.

UDX, a seven-member band that performed in Sri Lanka for the first time, hails from Nagaland, a province in the northeastern part of India known for its musical talent. With the 75th Independence Day of Sri Lanka being commemorated on February 4, 2023, a performance by artists from UDX and Stigmata together was a fitting tribute to the joint celebrations of the national days of India and Sri Lanka. The event reflected the close links between the two countries in the fields of art and culture.

In the next few days, UDX will travel around the island and give performances in Jaffna, Kandy, and Hambantota.
