The maha Sangha formulated the Snkadagala declaration, today calling President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down unconditionally. Ven. Dr Omalpe Sobitha Thera read the declaration right from the base of the Monarawila Keppetipola monument in Kandy and handed it over to the prelates of the main Buddhist chapters in Kandy. Other religious leaders were also present on the occasion.
