Southern New York District Court denies Sri Lanka's plea to dismiss the case filed by Hamilton Reserve Bank

  The District Court of Southern New York has dismissed Sri Lanka’s plea to dismiss the case file by Hamilton Reserve Bank to recover international sovereign bonds worth 250 million US dollars and the accrued interest. District Judge Denise Cote denied Sri Lanka’s motion to dismiss the case filed against Hamilton Reserve Bank. The District Judge upheld the plaintiff's argument while rejecting the GOSL's argument on the ground that the plaintiff lacks contractual standing.
