Senior Superintendent of Police Romesh Liyanage of the Special Task Force has been placed under interdiction after a team of STF men attacked six Sirasa news journalists on duty.
The journalists were on duty near the Prime Minister’s private residence when the STF attacked them.
The attack left six journalists injured. A lady journalist had put eight stitches on the head due to an injury she suffered.
Soon after the incident, several unidentified people entered the Prime Minister’s private residence at the fifth lane and torched the house.
