Three-member committee appointed to investigate  Rambukkana shooting

The Ministry of Public Security has appointed a three-member committee to carry out an independent investigation into Tuesday’s police shooting in Rambukkana which killed one civilian and injured more than twenty others. The committee members are Secretary to the State Ministry for Community Policing S. T Kodikara who is its chairperson, Additional Secretary Ministry of Public Security Ms M. S. P Sooriyapperuma and the Legal Advisor to the Defence Ministry Retired Major General E. S. Jayasinghe. There is no State Ministry for Community Policing at present.
