Two Parliamentarians remanded

SLPP parliamentarians Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayatilleke were today ordered to be remanded till May 25 by Colombo Fort Magistrate in connection with the incidents at MainaGoGama and GotaGoGama on May 9.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage observed that two suspects being the members of Parliament should have acted in a responsible manner to prevent violence following the meeting at Temple Trees.
Taking into consideration the non-conclusion of the investigation into the incident, and the possibility of a public outcry if the suspects were granted bail, the Magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded until May 25.
