United Nations Assistant-Secretary-General (ASG) and Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Ms Kanni Wignaraja, concluded her 2-day official visit to Sri Lanka, which took place from January 3–4, 2023.
During her visit and discussions with national leaders, she looked into new avenues of support for Sri Lanka from multilateral and bilateral partners, focusing on socioeconomic recovery through sustainable and innovative financing, strengthening food security efforts, renewable energy, and e-mobility, as well as follow-ups from the recently concluded UN Climate Change Conference, COP27.These and other next steps will also be supported by UNDP.
