USA, Canada and the EU tell the government to protect people's rights

The United States of America. Canada and the European Union have issued statements questioning the necessity to declare a state of emergency by the President.

Ambassadors of all these countries insist that the people should enjoy the right to engage in peaceful protests against the government. They have also reminded us that Sri Lanka is one of the oldest democracies in South Asia.
