The government on Saturday sealed three warehouses belonging to coconut oil importers on the suspicion that the oil so imported contains a carcinogen substance.

Thirteen containers of coconut oil contaminated with carcinogen Aflatoxin was scheduled to be released to the market by the middle of the next week.

The food safety unit of the Ministry of health has earlier warned and alerted the Customs of the containers containing Aflatoxin.

The Consumer Affairs Authority had reportedly taken samples off the shelves of several shops, to ascertain the safety of the coconut oil sold in the market.
